Our commitment
Every donation to MyFundAction Australia (ABN 42 675 602 730) is put to work funding humanitarian relief. We take great care to honour your generosity — and we also know that genuine mistakes happen. This policy explains how we handle refunds fairly and promptly.
Donations are generally non-refundable
Because donations are typically committed to our programs soon after they are received, gifts are generally non-refundable once made. If you have made an error, or believe a donation was made without authorisation, please read the next section — we will always try to make it right.
Requesting a refund for an error
If any of the following apply, contact us within 14 days of your donation and we will review your request and issue a refund where appropriate:
- you donated the wrong amount, or entered it incorrectly;
- you were charged more than once for the same gift;
- the donation was made without your authorisation (for example, an unauthorised use of your card);
- you changed your mind shortly after donating and the funds have not yet been deployed.
To help us process your request quickly, please include your receipt or confirmation number, the donation amount, and the date.
Monthly & recurring gifts
If you have set up a monthly (recurring) gift, you can pause or cancel it at any time — there is no minimum commitment. You can do this using the manage-donation link in your receipt email, through the secure Fundraise Up donor portal, or by contacting us.
Cancelling stops future payments. It does not automatically refund gifts already made; if you would also like a past payment reviewed, let us know and we will apply the refund rules above.
How refunds are processed
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through our payment provider, Fundraise Up. Refunds are made in US dollars (USD) and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Tax receipts
Donations of $2 or more to MyFundAction Australia are tax deductible in Australia. If a donation that has been receipted is later refunded, the tax-deductible receipt is void and cannot be claimed. If you have already claimed it, please adjust your tax return accordingly.
